Office Policies

Due to COVID-19 public health directives, please call for an appointment in advance. Because we limit the number of people in our office for health and safety reasons, please keep to your scheduled appointment time. Out of courtesy, kindly wear your mask as you enter the office. If you and all others in the office are vaccinated, we have the option of removing it thereafter. You have the option to wear your mask if you are more comfortable doing so.

New Patient procedure: We don't just take care of bad backs or sore parts; we take care of people, and that takes time. Dr. Patch spends forty-five minutes to an hour with a new patient to get a holistic impression of their overall health, how they exercise, work, play, and general health habits. After completing the New Patient registration forms, the doctor will review your case history with you, complete an examination of the areas of concern, and give you his report of findings and recommended action plan. X-rays may or may not be necessary, depending on each situation.

Fees: Payments are collected at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, credit or debit cards, HSA cards (Health Savings Account), and FSA cards (Flexible Spending Account). Our fees are usual, reasonable, and customary for the type of service provided. Feel free to inquire.

Insurance: We are an independent, out-of-network provider. Our office is not on any of the HMO panels or PPO network panels. We do accept straight original Medicare, and Automobile MedPay policies if the patient has medical payments coverage on their auto policy. Some Medicare plans have a supplemental that covers the deductible and co-payments. If you have signed your Medicare coverage over to an HMO such as Advantage Medicare, then you must go to one of their panel providers. If in doubt of your plan's coverage, we can help you check your benefits. We are not covered by Medicaid, CMS, or MediCal.

Parking: We are on the corner of Sunset Cliffs Blvd. at Santa Monica Avenue. There is no off-street parking, but there is a Handicap space in front of the office. Pay attention to the 2-hour limits and street sweeping 7-10AM on the West side of Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Wednesdays, and the East side on Fridays.
