When your spine is out of order, nothing in your life goes right. Yes, we specialize in spine care, but we don't just take care of bad backs and achy parts; we take care of whole people. A holistic approach to health is one that considers you as a complete living being with physical, chemical and mental attributes. That's why I designed the Triad of Health pamphlet below as a guide to holistic self-care so that you can play an important role in achieving and maintaining good health, naturally. Spinal adjustments are tailored to your needs each and every visit. I use several different techniques depending on the condition, including manual, instrument, and the Thompson drop-table adjustments.

Keep your Triad of Life checklist
handy where you can view it
regularly and monitor your progress.
Remember, if you make one change,
positive or negative, it affects all
three sides of the triad. It is a life's
work to achieve and maintain good
health. It is worth it. Persevere.
If you have any questions about the
Triad of Life, or chiropractic, feel
free to inquire. Dr. Patch is available
on a limited basis for speaking
engagements on the topic of Health
and Chiropractic to students or public
groups.

The Triad of Life is fun and useful
guide to your holistic
Health-not
just lack of disease or symptoms, but
an exalted state of the highest, most
perfect physical, chemical and
spiritual function. The checklist
within helps us manage the essential
requirements of life, and gives us
something to strive for.
There are three sides to the triangle:
Physical, Chemical and Mental.
They are all interlinked; each side
supports and affects the other two.
Although you cannot stay alive
without all three, of foremost
importance is the physical, without
which there would be no life form
called You. You, as a conscious,
living creature have the power to
influence all three sides of the Triad.
Here are my recommendations:
PHYSICAL
Avoid:
injuries; lethargy; obesity;
sitting all day; a slumped, tired, stiff
and painful spine, with resultant loss
of nerve energy or vital life force.
Positives:
- Walk, exercise, work, and play in
a manner that recreates your body
daily
- Rest, sleep and take naps for
refreshment and healing
- Get chiropractic adjustments for
an optimal spine and nervous
system
- Practice yoga, stretching, Qi
Gong, or other revitalizing
procedures daily
The expression of a healthy physical
body includes: strength, balance,
flexibility, endurance, and a readiness
to engage in either physical action or
dynamic rest.
CHEMICAL
Avoid:
poisons in food, drink and
air; cigarette smoking; alcoholism,
(drinking yourself into submission
several times per week); drinking
soda pop or coffee instead of pure,
clean water; junk food addiction,
(excess eating of non-nutritive,
appetite-stimulating, crunchy, salty,
sugary, fatty, MSG-laden packaged
snacks or fast foods from the "Scarf
and Barfs")
Positives:
- Eat organic, fresh, live food;
50% or more uncooked
- Drink clean water without
pollutants or chemicals
- Breath in a long, slow and
rhythmic manner
- Take nutritional supplements to
nourish and protect your cells
The ultimate sense of chemical health
is dynamic energy, endurance, full
oxygenation of your blood stream,
and a bubbling abundance of happy
polypeptides in your brain.
MENTAL
Avoid:
negative mental ideas;
feelings of fear, dread, hate, and
hopelessness; lacking a sense of a
higher purpose; consuming too
much TV, newspapers and radio
mind pollution.
Positives:
- Watch and manage your
thoughts!
- Build and maintain a constant
attitude of joy, gratitude, love,
praise and enthusiasm
- Practice daily meditation, prayer,
worship or communion with
something greater than your self;
attain peace and inspiration.
- Live with a sense of purpose in
your life; set goals, know why
you are here
The ultimate feelings of good mental
health are peace, love, bliss, joy,
gratitude and enthusiasm.
